Introduced in 1945, the Rolex Air-King pays homage to the adventurers of the sky, and the pilot of the first plane wore this unique model to fly over Mount Everest at an altitude of 10,000 meters. Rolex decided that wherever a plane could go, their watch must go too.
Today, you can only find the Rolex Air-King in one timeless configuration. But it wasn't always this way; in the past, we have seen many other exciting models and attractive models.
This is a very versatile watch that can be dressed up or down. The ergonomic design helps this watch to be one of the comfiest models Rolex has to offer, and it looks fantastic on the modern gentleman's wrist. The bracelet and clasp are entirely crafted from Rolexes brushed oyster steel, making the watch basically scratch-resistant whilst adding a perfect mat finish.
The Air-King has recently undergone some subtle changes, the most noticeable being the crown guards. Many enthusiasts believe the new crown guard is not only practical, but also creates a unique and refined aesthetic.
