In 1875, Jules Audemars and Edward Piguet established Audemars Piguet in Switzerland. Previously, Audemars had been crafted complications for other brands. When the two paired together, Audemars maintained his crucial role in production while Piguet took charge of the marketing, management and sales. This made the brand thrive; they both stuck to what they knew and now the company is run by fourth-generation leaders from the Audemars family. Audemars Piguet's success and brand recognition particularly skyrocketed ever since The Royal Oak, AP's most popular model, was released in the 1970s.
