Patek Philippe Calatrava 5524G

The best beginners guide to the Patek Phillippe Calatrava

Join us in this blog as we discover the history of one of Pateks most iconic models.

The Patek Philippe Calatrava was introduced in 1932 to boost sales and help Patek get through the great depression smoothly. The watch was originally designed by Henri Stern (the current CEO's grandfather). The watch is known to be a classy dress watch praised for its simplified and refined base design, a base design that would later be built on.

The original Calatrava was a simple piece consisting of a time-only movement, a circular yellow-gold case and a leather strap. Patek Philippe has honoured their heritage by keeping the original design elements of Calatrava whilst adapting to the everchanging watch market. Today, the model can be found crafted from many different precious metals with various complications and configurations to choose from. The watch is still known for its iconic design, which features a circular case and leather strap.

Patek Philippe are always starving for excellence and the Calatrava is no exception, Patek has been continuously improving and changing the collection since its inception. We recommend you view Patek Philippe's current collection.

The collectability and investment value of a Patek Philippe Calatrava

The Patek Philippe Calatrava is no doubt one of the most iconic Pateks you can purchase; the collection is diverse, which means you can choose a model that suits your needs and style, making the range highly collectable. One of the biggest points of value for a luxury watch is the intrinsic value; what does it mean to you? The watch may have been purchased to celebrate a new business venture or to mark a special occasion; regardless of the event, the large and diverse Calatrava range has a watch for everyone.
