The Rolex Daytona pays homage to speed. It was inspired by motorsport and designed to meet the needs of racing drivers by measuring elapsed time and calculating average speed. In 1955, Rolex released their first chronograph and started to team up with popular race drivers like Sir Malcolm Campbell, who then achieved the world speed record whilst wearing a Daytona.

This Rolex Daytona features an elegant combination of 18ct yellow gold and oyster steel. The watch has a black dial, which, from our experience, is one of the most sought-after configurations for the bimetal Daytona. This reference has recently been discontinued, which means as time passes, unworn examples will become harder to find.

This particular watch is in unworn condition and sold as a complete and original set, including the original box, papers, booklets and swing tags. The remainder of the manufacturer's warranty and a watch register certificate are also included.
